I’m really exicted to share this lovely company with you.
Funky Elephant is an Australian based company that specialises in trunks {boxes} full of fun craft and activity ideas to do with your kiddo aged 3-7 years old.
Based on the subscription you choose {they offer 2, 6 and 12 month} you will get a trunk full of all the necessary supplies and instructions to complete the craft activities for every month of your subscription, delivered to your door!
We had the great pleasure of trying out a trunk, and you know what? It couldn’t have come at a better time. I have been so so busy these past few weeks and the fact that I could sit down with my kids, open up the trunk and pull out a cute little instruction pamphlet and ALL the supplies needed to complete a craft was just – awesome!
Typically a Funky Elephant trunk consists of 3-4 activities / projects for your kiddos to complete. This Circus themed trunk came with 4 different activities/projects to do, some stickers and a dot to dot plus all the materials needed and the instructions. The instructions even have a little guide as to how messy the activity is so you know before you start.
And the instructions are clear and easy to follow and include a list of the items included in the trunk that you will need for each activity.
The first one we did was decorate a tie and make a clown hat.
Everything was included in the trunk. The trunks are really designed for one child (though you can purchase an add on for extra children or buy each child their own trunk!) but we just split it up, so Chloe decorated the tie and Noah made up the clown hat.
Chloe continued to decorate even after it was dry and we tried it on her. Haha.
They loved it, and were very proud of their finished products!{apparently these are father’s day gifts for hubby – tee hee! can’t wait til he has to wear these around all day!}
The next day while Noah was at school Chloe completed another of the craft activities in the trunk – painting this very neat paddle + ball toy which she thought was pretty awesome before she painted it herself. Now she has a big smile on her face when she picks it up and says “I paint it!”
And then a couple of days later, we pulled out another craft activity to do. It was so nice to answer Noah’s “Mummy can we do a craft please?” with a “actually yes buddy we can!” because all I needed to do was open the trunk and pull out the remaining craft items and the instruction pamphlet and get going.
Like I said, everything is included – I didn’t even need to search for a glue stick or a pencil, it was all in the box.
These lion masks were fun. A little harder for Chloe as she can’t roll the strips of paper around the pencil to create the curls for the mane (but she is only 2) so I did that for her and did quite a few for Noah too. But they enjoyed using the glue stick to stick the curls on.
We did one with paint {Noah helped Chloe, and she added a whole heap of water with the paint brush after, it is her favourite thing to do with water colour haha!} and Noah decided to draw his face on.
My kiddos ran around the backyard “Raaa-ing” at each other when their masks were all ready to play with. Love it.
You know that I have a cupboard full of craft stuff, but sometimes life gets so busy that I haven’t had time to find or come up with a craft, find all the bits and pieces in the cupboard or go and buy a particular item and set it up / prep anything needing cutting out before hand etc and this is why I LOVED our Funky Elephant trunk. No need to run around to 3 different shops just trying to find all the materials for a craft or find a way to store a ton of craft stuff if you don’t have the space – all the hard work is done for you and all you need to do is sit down, open the box and start having fun with your kiddos!

disclosure: My kiddos received a Funky Elephant trunk to review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions are my own and shared with you honestly.
Wow…this is such a brilliant concept!! I love to craft with my kids but sometimes it can be hard to come up with ideas so l think a theme is great!! However l am sorta of a here’s the craft box … now let your imagination go wild sorta gal!
I love to do whatever my daughter feels like when it comes to crafting, I just let her creative juices follow and she goes to town on whatever she does haha
A lot of this and a little of that. What ever they feel like doing – it’s their imagination and I say go with it 🙂
Wow!!! Great concept, especiallly for those of us ‘way out bush’ who don’t have a convenient craft-ish store nearby. For us to do a craft activity we need to plan 2 weeks out to make sure we have everything, down to the curling ribbon and glue stick. We can’t always rely on the local store to stock what we need.
Craft stores stress me out so this sounds like bliss! PS I spent the morning printing your fathers day printables. They are gorgeous!
Oh, Bianca!! I wish I’d seen this WEEKS ago!! We are at the final stage of building our house & getting ready for handover & moving in, so it’s been crazy!! My little boy LOVES craft & despite having HEAPS of it, I just haven’t had time to do any!! And I have HUGE mummy guilt! I love themes – but throw in a bit of this & that too every now & then 😉
My 6 year old son loves crafting along a theme but I just dont have ideas for him. He would love to win one of these trunks.
I like doing craft, but not on themes, unless father’s day is coming up. Basically whatever I’m inspired by at the time.
We do lots of craft here. A lot of it depends on what he is into at the moment and others its a bit of this and that. Love the time we spend together crafting up a storm.
These trunks look fabulous. Just perfect for that downtime during the day that you don’t want to be filled with screen time! (our biggest hurdle at the moment!)
Love the fact the it has a messy gauge!
Thanks for sharing Bianca, I have been on the look out for these ‘all in one’craft subscriptions!

What a great idea! I often find that preparing (and cleaning up!) takes sooooo much longer than the activity itself and I think these trunks would help!
I absolutely love crafting with my little boy, I try to work in themes but with a new baby having just arrived its crafting at a moments notice and themes have sort of gone out the window for awhile. What a fantastic idea having it all arrive at your door!!!
Nadine
I kinda like a bit of this and that but I love the idea of the “trunks” because it’s so convenient and all-inclusive. Love that. Oh, and so super cute. Nikki x
Thank you for the opportunity! Chelsea
Wow what a great concept! Miss 3 loves art and crafts. She usually does themes so one piece can go with the other 🙂
Great product! I’d say more a bit of this and that.
My 3 year old son and i love doing craft together on a daily basis. We tend to go with the flow and create what ever we fancy on the day. Now he is getting older i would love to start doing craft by theme and more educational based :)Vicky Deller-Smith
Fabulous idea guys! For my little guys (1 & 3), sometimes we’ve just got to run with whatever spurs them on but a theme can structure an idea and help my boys conceive everyday learnings: seasons, colous, shapes, the farm, space etc… Theming gives me a platform to come up with ideas too!
We generally just go with the flow with craft, with whatever takes our fancy on any given day … but something structured would be an awesome help for when one of ‘those’ days hit :):)
We definitely do a bit of this and that but I love the idea of working on a theme.
At the moment we do a little but of this and that, however since finding pintrest I think we might give themes a go for awhile xx
I can’t wait to be able to craft and activities in themes, but I think at this point my daughter is slightly too young to understand the concept? I already have a list of themes ready to go for when she is a bit older 🙂
Great idea! We are always running out of stuff! Love that you use themes – great for kids learning and to get them ready for school!
I prefer a little bit of this and a little bit of that! i think id get bored with themes 😛
A great idea – it gives some guidance for those kids that like it, and the others can go free if they choose! and I always. always. forget the glue, so that’s a big thumbs up! 🙂
Great giveaway! I do a bit of both really. I do themes especially around special occasions, holidays or big events like the Olympics and sometimes we just do whatever my little boy suggests. Christmas is definitely my favourite craft theme!
I like whattever I can get organised enough to so…I’m a bit craft challenged!
I love that the craft is in themes. Great idea and to have new themes each time keeps the kids interested and waiting to see what the next trunk will bring.
I love to craft in themes! Lilly just learnt about native animals at school, so we did some koala and echidna craft.
You can never start the little ones off too soon with fun craft creations to make and we try to work around themes to do with everyday experiences
