April 1st, 2014|Categories: crafts, diy|Tags: , , , , , |1 Comment

I wanted to share this quick and easy little way to decorate those popular glass milk bottles {or mason jars with handles or anything glass really – let your creativity run wild!} with something we probably don’t think much of {except during back to school time where most of us probably really don’t like it} – contact paper.I shared this photo a couple of months ago of some back to school afternoon tea prep for my kids and so many of you asked where I got our apple milk bottles so I thought I’d […]

I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day, no matter what your plans are :o} We have been having fun with food around here in the lead up to Valentine’s Day!This is why I love Valentine’s! But I love an excuse even when I don’t need one. :o}Heart shaped pancakes! We have a cute little heart shaped […]

I cannot believe that I made these up weeks ago and have been forgetting to pop them up on the blog!Hopefully some of you will still find a use for them! Even if just to give your own kiddos as a little something something tomorrow – which is what I’m doing for mine along with a little note for each of them. These are super simple, and although I’ve used them with an organic lollipop, you really could use them for any kind of treat or even just as they are! If you’re not using […]

February 1st, 2013|Categories: printables|Tags: , , |4 Comments

I had meant to print these and share them on the blog yesterday but totally forgot, and woke up this morning and realised it was already the first of February! How did that happen? So this morning I printed out the 14 Days of Valentine’s cards you can find here, and decided on an activity per day as an advent style countdown to Valentine’s day. In years past I have written something I loved about each kiddo and hubby but I thought it would be nice to do the activities this year, plus some days […]

heart shaped meringues

February 13th, 2012|Categories: recipes|Tags: , |4 Comments

Have you ever made meringue before? This was the first time I have attempted these little delicious treats. I found this recipe on Taste.com.au – it had great reviews which is always a good sign so I decided to give it a go.Make sure you leave enough time for these – they take about 5 hours all up – because they are cooked nice and slow in the oven {2.5 hours} and then left in there until the oven is cool {about 3 hours}. Taste.com.au Meringue Recipe – by Sarah HobbsYou will need:4 egg whites at […]

Life has been pretty busy lately, getting settled into a new routine with Noah at full time school, planning his birthday party and me trying to catch up on a few things before the semester at uni starts back up. And so our crafts and activities have been a little on the easy and quick side. Nothing wrong with that! We are loving the results :o}First up we made some Valentine’s lanterns. I had some left over lanterns that I didn’t end up using for Chloe’s Polka Dot Party last year so we decorated […]

{printable} valentine’s day bookmarks

February 6th, 2012|Categories: crafts, printables|Tags: |4 Comments

You might remember we made these totally cute reindeer bookmarks at Christmas. We really love ours and it’s such a cute keepsake. Noah enjoyed giving them out to friends at school and also to family members. So we decided to do them up again for Valentines :o}We started off with printing them out onto white cardstock. Then doing little fingerprints with red ink in the shape of a heart. And then I cut them out, laminated and punched a hole up the top to thread some pretty heart ribbon through. Done. So easy. You can download the […]

Post number two for today! I have a lot to share with you guys since I was slack last week!! Since putting up an Ikea Ribba shelf for use as a mantle at Christmastime, I have been enjoying decorating it for other occasions such as Australia Day and now also Valentine’s Day.For our Valentine’s day mantle we made this cute cute button heart by glueing buttons onto a piece of card stock in the shape of a heart and placed it into a shadow box frame when it was dry.We also made this doily and button garland spelling out […]
