{DIY} decorative glass bottles

April 1st, 2014|Categories: crafts, diy|Tags: , , , , , |1 Comment

I wanted to share this quick and easy little way to decorate those popular glass milk bottles {or mason jars with handles or anything glass really – let your creativity run wild!} with something we probably don’t think much of {except during back to school time where most of us probably really don’t like it} – contact paper.I shared this photo a couple of months ago of some back to school afternoon tea prep for my kids and so many of you asked where I got our apple milk bottles so I thought I’d […]

Our Alfresco Make-Over :: Taubmans Endure Paint Challenge

March 25th, 2014|Categories: diy|Tags: , , , |4 Comments

This post is brought to you by TaubmansFor nearly five years {so the whole time we’ve lived in our house!} we’ve been a bit ‘meh’ about our alfresco area. It was never that inviting or anything special to look at. The huge wall of yellow brick left me very uninspired and Daniel and I literally just stuck 1/3rd of an old bamboo Japanese screen on there above the daybed in an attempt to ‘pretty’ up our outside area. Somewhere along the lines I added some string lights and we called it done. And it stayed like […]

quick and easy wall update

October 9th, 2013|Categories: diy|Tags: |0 Comments

I was in Ikea the day before Owen was born {have I mentioned that I love Ikea!?} and I was drawn to the teal colour of these Malma mirrors. When I saw their price of $2.95 each I couldn’t resist and decided to see if I could get a square instagram print to fit on top of the mirror. I had been searching for some nice square frames as I have so many favourite instagram photos I’d love to display in our home. Of course I didn’t get around to trying it out and popping […]

Owen’s dreamy cloud nursery

October 7th, 2013|Categories: diy|Tags: , , , , |24 Comments

Finally I’ve had some time to sit down and share Owen’s dreamy cloud nursery with you all! I was so excited to share this with you and had hoped to share shortly after I shared his little nook in our bedroom but then he arrived and things have been pretty crazy since then :o}At first we weren’t going to find out girl or boy so we chose an aqua and white colour theme as a neutral starting point for the nursery. I had planned on adding in some yellow and blue or green for […]

putting together a mini gallery wall

August 12th, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |5 Comments

This post is brought to you by Target I have been a little obsessed with gallery walls of late. I first did one in Chloe’s room, and then in Noah’s. And then in the nursery and now I’ve also done one in the living room.I’m much more comfortable now with putting them together, and don’t know why it took me years before I gave it a go in our home! If you’ve been wanting to try putting up a gallery wall at your house, what are you waiting for?! It’s not as scary as you […]

a little baby nook

August 11th, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |8 Comments

Well I can’t quite believe we have reached 39 weeks and I am only now just posting about baby’s little nursery nook in our bedroom! This has been almost finished for quite a while, it was one of the first things we organised for our soon to be born baby as I thought it would help make it feel ‘real’ that we were in actual fact having a baby!It had been waiting for the final, finishing touch, which was a home made cloud mobile to hang above. The cloud itself is a little pillow. I was […]

our play spaces

July 29th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , , , |10 Comments

Happy Monday lovely people! :o}I hope you had a great weekend! One of the things I receive the most messages and emails about is people wondering how we have set up the kids play spaces in our home. I admit our kids are very lucky with what they have space-wise in this house. They are lucky enough have two areas that are dedicated to playing and creating. If you have been a reader for a while you will know I like to change our house around a lot. We have recently done a whole switcheroo {again} and […]

easter love in our home

March 18th, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |17 Comments

I absolutely LOVE decorating for Easter. There’s just something about the soft pastel colours and cute little bunnies everywhere. Easter decor is usually something I feel I could have up all year round and I thought I’d share a little of what’s been brightening a few spots in our home this Easter. These are one of my most favourite Easter decorations to pull out each year. Our salt dough Easter creations! Some of these go all the way back to 2009, when a super cute 2 year old Noah made his first one! Our sweet little Easter […]

writing workshop

September 4th, 2012|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |23 Comments

A little while ago I stumbled across this idea of a young writers workshop by Jennifer of the write start via pinterest and had to start a whole board for the writing workshop I was instantly inspired to make for my kiddos. Recently we have been having a few hiccups with writing around here, it was getting tense and Noah wasn’t enjoying it and I needed something to re-spark his love for writing and practicing his letter formation and pencil grip. I knew this would be just the thing we needed. We had an area where […]

chloe’s new big girl bed

July 16th, 2012|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |22 Comments

a couple of weekends ago we moved our sweet little girl into a big girl bed. Well, an extendible bed anyway. :o}Last year we moved her into this room and I added some embroidery hoop wall art and some splashes of teal here and there. We ended up with this, and while I loved it, it felt a little busy and I didn’t love the change table where it was but it was how we left it until it was time for her big girl bed. There isn’t a lot of wriggle room in this bedroom due […]
