We have been doing A LOT of Spring Cleaning here – and when I spring clean I often move furniture! A change is as good as a holiday and I think I’ve changed nearly every room in our house!
Noah has a nautical themed bedroom. I have always wanted to have a boy so I could style his room in soft blue, beige and cream with boats and starfish and other nautical things and maps here and there. I have shared his room before – but we moved his bed to the other side of the room and it instantly feels more welcoming in there. {The bunting is from Spotlight and is the “Noah” range – what a coincidence!}
I bought a $3.95 rug from Ikea for the floor beside the bed and we put an old bedside table repurposed from another room in here to make a sort of bench / seat for Noah to place his bag on when he gets home from school. He has hooks in his wardrobe but finds it difficult to hang his mega huge bag on them so this works well for us. And when I don’t want to see it I can shove it in the bottom of the bedside unit or hang it up in the wardrobe :o}

I also thought I’d share with you a recent project I did for Noah’s room. My Mum embroidered our birth stats {name, date, weight and time} and had them framed and they were a lovely addition to our bedrooms growing up. I haven’t been able to find a kind of template that she used and I’m hopeless at embroidery so I decided to do something a little different. In trying to add more maps into Noah’s room I decided to cut his name out of maps that hold importance or significance to him. Countries of our heritage, etc.
I printed his birth date, time and weight on a piece of cardstock and then glued the cut out map letters on and then put it in a frame to display in his room. :o} Very happy with how this turned out :o}
I get emailed about the beautiful sail boat pictures in the frames quite often! They are a few years old and I don’t think they are available anymore – they were from Ikea. :o}
