“A dog-walker accidentally killed six pets after locking them in the back of a hot truck for 45 minutes then lied and said the animals had been stolen.”- the Daily Mail from the UK wrote.
The very thought of this makes me ill. Living in a state were the heat reaches well over 112 on a simple summer day, I hear stories on the news weekly about adults leaving children & pets in locked cars, somehow claiming that they “forgot” that a living creature- human or animal- is in the car with them. Usually we end up finding out it that the tragedy is rarely an accident, like the recent case in Georgia were a toddler died.
Either way, nothing- not one single soul deserves to die in such a way- and I’m glad that the dogsitter is going to jail, although I think she deserves more time. However, according to Dogsbite.org & Daxton’s friends supporter and king of spam- 6 dogs dying in a hot car is not a crime that should be punished.
Right off the bat- he makes excuses and justifies it by throwing in “two of the six dogs were pit bulls…”, like that matters. It doesn’t, but it lays the ground work for all of his excuses on WHY this dog sitter who locked six dogs in hot car for 45 minutes and then told people they were missing.
“In fact, the animals had died of heat exhaustion. In an attempt to cover up her crime, Paulsen dumped the bodies in a nearby ditch and claimed the animals had been stolen.”
In a hot car, Animals can sustain brain damage or even die from heatstroke in just 15 minutes. Those dogs were left baking and suffering for 45 minutes.
Now, this Dogsbite.org & Daxton’s Friends member let’s us know he doesn’t condone the pet sitters negligence & lies but….
1. “They are only dogs”
2. “Dogs are easily replaceable.”
3. “Dogs do not make a difference in this world- one way or another.”
4. “In some parts of the world they eat dogs like chicken”.
5. “Some countries find dogs a nuisance and shoots strays.”
6. “Other countries find them unclean & refuse to come in contact with them.”
This is a great example at the soulless behavior brimming with hypocrisy that fills the ranks of Dogsbite.org & Daxton’s Friends members. This reasoning by their OWN members demolish ANY argument that they use when they say a “Pit type dog” kills another dog. It’s just a dog, right? It’s easy replaceable, right? Your dog doesn’t matter anyhow, right?
Thomas should do a bit more research before he starts preaching on his soap box- yes, some Muslim sects such as Sunni and Shi’a find dogs unclean however in narration by Abu Huraira Volume 3, Book 40, Number 551- it reads:
“While a man was walking he felt thirsty and went down a well, and drank water from it. On coming out of it, he saw a dog panting and eating mud because of excessive thirst. The man said, ‘This (dog) is suffering from the same problem as that of mine.’ So, he (went down the well), filled his shoe with water, caught hold of it with his teeth and climbed up and watered the dog. Allah thanked him for his (good) deed and forgave him. The people asked “O Allah’s Apostle! Is there a reward for us in serving (the) animals? He replied: “Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate (living being).”
Let’s not forget 18th verse of the 18th chapter of the Qur’an, which reads:
“Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them.”
(Surah Al Kahf, Qur’an: 18)
Thomas also fails to mention just how historic the ancestral history of dogs are.
1. Dogs were associated with Anubis in ancient Egypt.
2. Dogs had a major religious and symbolic significance to the Aztec peoples of central Mexico. In fact, several burial sites dedicated to dogs have been found.
3. The dog is one of the 12 animals honored in Chinese astrology. Also, the second day of the Chinese New Years is dedicated to the birthday of all dogs.
4. In the five day Tihar festival, dogs are worshiped. In Hindu- dogs guard the doors of heaven and hell.
5. In Zoroastrianism (an ancient monotheistic Iranian religion) a dog is considered a clean & righteous creature which must be fed and taken care of.
Dogs have & will always be one of many dynamic relationships that humans have, even according to the VA dogs benefit individuals diagnosed with PTSD.
So yes Thomas, you unoriginal, copy & pasting, spamming horrible excuse for a human- dogs do matter. Those six dogs that died mattered to those people, to their communities and obviously to the court system. I would save a dog before I even contemplated saving you and the majority of your terroristic hate group.
The sad part is- that some of you were entrusted to care for another living creature, be it human or animal and you failed- epically but that’s squarely on your shoulders.

This is an unbelievably upsetting trio of stories: the little boy whose own father killed him, the six dogs who died in a hideously cruel way, and then the reaction of this self-proclaimed humanitarian. The first one is so profoundly tragic that I can’t even really comment, so I’ll go on to the others…
I am so fed up with people who say that “it’s only a dog,” so let’s not punish people for animal cruelty. Here’s the reality: torturing a living thing is SADISM, whether the target is a dog, a chicken, a horse, a rat, even a cockroach. There is something profoundly wrong with anyone who takes enjoyment in inflicting physical suffering. Period. Normal people DO NOT think or behave this way.
Animal cruelty needs to be taken seriously, even if you don’t care about animals. The well-attested reality is that people who can torture animals will do the same to humans, if they feel they can get away with it. When a man is torturing a dog, for instance, he’s often fantasizing torturing a woman. We all remember what J. Dahmer did the neighborhood cats in his childhood. Animal cruelty is the “gateway drug” of serial killers, rapists and spousal abusers.
Also, of course it’s absolutely a false dilemma to claim that you can only care about animals OR humans. Many people don’t realize it, but the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to children began as a branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to ANIMALS. The first successful criminal prosecution of child-cruelty was conducted under laws which began in an attempt to prevent cruelty to carriage horses. Awareness begets awareness; compassion begets compassion.
Gandhi said that the measure of a society is how we treat our animals. Would Mr. McCartney like to make the argument that he was a cold-hearted animal-lover who didn’t care anything for humans?
One last thing, which is that I just can’t stand when people pull the “when I became a parent…” line. This is so unintentionally revealing: if having a baby makes you have LESS compassion for the helpless living things around you, you only had a very limited amount to spread around in the first place.
In most people, compassion is NOT a limited resource; it actually grows with the increasing number of people, animals, and things you care about. That’s why people can have more than one child without loving the older ones any less. Simple stuff, you’d think.
