It’s been really quiet around here lately.

We have been enjoying a change of pace. A little slower, a little more relaxed, a little more all over the place. Unusual for me, a planner and scheduler my nature.

Our home has been it’s usual noisy self, filled with fun and laughs, love filled moments, laundry baskets overflowing, sandy floors, birthday cakes, movie nights, neglected shower screens and piles of paperwork.

We’ve been trying to settle into a new routine now that school is back. Some days we have it down pat, and others are a bit of a mess! But that’s okay. 🙂
Daily homework is something we’re still getting used to, but I will admit it is amazing to see what my gorgeous boy is capable of. I can see him learn more each and every day. I can see his brain ticking over as he sounds out each word. I am loving watching him go through his school journey!

A little over a week ago I turned 29. My gorgeous hubby came home from worked and baked me, from scratch, some chocolate and peanut butter whoopie pies. Oh my goodness! Heaven.

And I was spoilt with new bedside lamps from freedom. Our bedroom feels a little more grown up now!

And I got to go out on a little date with just my hubby. It has been years since we have had that opportunity and it was weird being with no kids but it was also just like old times, holding hands and strolling through gorgeous shops while chatting away. We enjoyed the most amazing chocolate mousse and coffee at koko black.

We’ve been spending weekends working on a few projects around the house {and ignoring some other things that need doing}, heading out and enjoying the last of summer {please do hurry up, autumn!} and I’ve been slowly decorating the house for Easter. This has to be one of my favourite times to decorate, all the pastel colours, the bunnies, baskets, everything is just so cute!

I have been indulging in early early nights just chilling in bed with a hot chocolate and a magazine or watching recorded tv shows or falling asleep hours before I normally would. It has been wonderful in many ways, taking this slower and more laid back approach.

And the reason for all this slowing down?

We have a gorgeous little baby who will be joining us in August.
We are so excited, thrilled and very blessed to be adding baby #3 to our family.

This pregnancy has taught me to take everything a little slower, not really by choice but necessity. I’ve struggled with the exhaustion and the lack of motivation and generally accomplishing very little but it’s also not such a bad thing to learn how to relax and not be so busy all of the time.
Choosing rest over staying up to blog. Choosing a nap instead of working on projects around the house. Learning to be kinder to myself and allowing my body the rest it needs to grow this sweet baby.

But I have been missing this blog of mine, and sharing some of the things we’ve been up to around here. And thankfully this weekend I had a little time and energy and wrote out a few posts and I am looking forward to sharing them with you!
