1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of salt
1 cup of water
1 Tb cream of tartar
1 Tb cooking oil
2 Tb of cocoa powder
Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan over low heat until it becomes very thick and is no longer sticky. Allow to cool a little before handling. Give it a good knead before giving it to the kids.
I find it helps A LOT if I use a whisk while the mix is still very liquidy at first, this helps to avoid lumps.
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for a few weeks :o}
I love how their imagination just runs wild and the opportunities for play this opens up for them. Playdough is such an amazing tool for learning when you’re little!
Have you tried some of these other playdoughs?
We have also made lavendar playdough {scented with a little lavendar essential oil}
and peppermint playdough. So much fun!
