organised lego storage

September 9th, 2014|Categories: A Little Delightful, organisation|Tags: , , , , , |6 Comments

I get a few messages about our organised lego storage most weeks, so I thought I’d do up a post to share with you all about it!
Noah (7 years old) had been asking and asking if we could separate his lego by colour and I honestly was apprehensive – it looks great and super organised when separated but I didn’t think he would keep up with it in terms of cleaning and packing up after a busy lego building session! And since he is responsible for cleaning up his own lego mess I really thought the […]

our play spaces

July 29th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , , , |10 Comments

Happy Monday lovely people! :o}I hope you had a great weekend! One of the things I receive the most messages and emails about is people wondering how we have set up the kids play spaces in our home. I admit our kids are very lucky with what they have space-wise in this house. They are lucky enough have two areas that are dedicated to playing and creating. If you have been a reader for a while you will know I like to change our house around a lot. We have recently done a whole switcheroo {again} and […]

diy magnetic chalkboard

October 9th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |5 Comments

When we first shared our new playroom I showed you this picture of what you see when you walk in. The frame was a project I had not finished and it stayed like that for a little longer than I like but the other weekend we finally finished it up.I had wanted a large magnetic chalkboard here and because I couldn’t find one to buy {Ikea do make a super cute one, but it isn’t available in WA yet} we decided to make one. I found a large frame at the Reject Shop for $20 […]

our new playroom : beneath the apple tree reading nook

September 7th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |6 Comments

This is my favourite favourite part of the playroom. I love how it has come together and how it provides a nice cosy spot to read in. Fitting 4 of us in here is a bit difficult, but 3 of us is just perfect. The kids just love it and use it on a daily basis. Chloe doesn’t like the apple cushions however, so she always throws them out before she makes herself comfortable. I have always wanted a reading nook and really wanted to make one for my kiddos. At first we weren’t going […]

our new playroom : ikea expedit desk

August 18th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |3 Comments

Thank you all for such lovely lovely comments on our new playroom. We are still really loving the space and I’m also enjoying that I can close the door to pretend the mess is not there if need be. But honestly even though the room gets trashed multiple times per day, I have found that Noah is more inclined to tidy up properly because he is also proud of the space and likes it when he can see it’s neat and tidy. :o}

Today I am sharing with you how we did our Ikea hacked […]

our new playroom

August 16th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |19 Comments

Well it feels like it took us months to do this, and in reality it took over a month simply because I’m impatient and started before I ‘should’ have. After much discussion we decided to change the playroom from the open plan living area ‘games room’ we had to the smallest bedroom in the house. So I lugged everything out of that room and started moving things in, 2 days before we were to fly out to see family. Needless to say, I didn’t get very much done and lost inspiration very quickly! After returning […]
