Our Alfresco Make-Over :: Taubmans Endure Paint Challenge

March 25th, 2014|Categories: diy|Tags: , , , |4 Comments

This post is brought to you by TaubmansFor nearly five years {so the whole time we’ve lived in our house!} we’ve been a bit ‘meh’ about our alfresco area. It was never that inviting or anything special to look at. The huge wall of yellow brick left me very uninspired and Daniel and I literally just stuck 1/3rd of an old bamboo Japanese screen on there above the daybed in an attempt to ‘pretty’ up our outside area. Somewhere along the lines I added some string lights and we called it done. And it stayed like […]

’tis the season to – take a deep breath

December 12th, 2013|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , |7 Comments

We’re half way through the advent calendars – already. What? I’m not sure how that happened so fast.Has it all been a blur for you too? I was talking with a friend of mine about this the other day, how this time of year inevitably gets crazy busy, not just because of Christmas, not only if you haven’t finished Christmas shopping two months ago, but because for us Aussie’s it’s also the end of a school year, everything is wrapping up and being finalised before our long holidays. There are event evenings, graduation ceremonies, open class […]

our play spaces

July 29th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , , , |10 Comments

Happy Monday lovely people! :o}I hope you had a great weekend! One of the things I receive the most messages and emails about is people wondering how we have set up the kids play spaces in our home. I admit our kids are very lucky with what they have space-wise in this house. They are lucky enough have two areas that are dedicated to playing and creating. If you have been a reader for a while you will know I like to change our house around a lot. We have recently done a whole switcheroo {again} and […]

a little bathroom makeover

March 12th, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |14 Comments

A few weekends ago we set about to make a few little changes around the house. It always feels nice to make these little changes and I love it when we find a that perfect solution or idea. Budget is always a factor so usually I turn to Ikea as they stock such a large range and most things are really reasonably priced. In the case of our bathroom, I just really really didn’t like how it looked. It was boring and I tried to dress it up with some large photographs I had taken […]

back to school {2013} : the school corner + homework supplies caddy

February 5th, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , , , |9 Comments

Finishing off the back to school posts is our new School Corner! You might recognise this space as the spot our writing workshop used to be – I moved this quite a while ago so that it was closer to the kids work table which left this area a little blank. It is right next to our dining table, which is where I though Noah could do his homework at this young age {Year 1, nearly 6 years old} as he will probably need some help or want to talk through things with me and this […]

garden make-over : the side of our house

September 2nd, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |9 Comments

Well, we have been living in our ‘new’ house for just over 2 years and the other weekend we finally finished our garden. I call it the laundry side of our house, and it had been left to look like a rubbish tip. Needless to say it was not pleasant to go out and hang clothes on the washing line – and therefore I used my indoor clothes horse a lot {oh, and the dryer}. There’s something about their Mum’s coming to visit that launch husbands into proactive-ness. Not that I’m complaining, because I am […]
