Noah’s Space Party

February 20th, 2012|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , , |12 Comments

Recently my sweet boy turned the big F.I.V.E. I can honestly say I don’t know how we got here so quickly. And he must be so used to me saying that it has flown by, because on the morning of his birthday he said to me “It was like I was just born yesterday Mummy and now I am five!” Haha.Happy Birthday Noah! You are such a gorgeous boy, inside and out. I am proud of you and proud to be your Mama. You have taught me so much, and I love you to […]

cotton ball ‘snow’

December 4th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |0 Comments

Yesterday we did a little more Christmas decorating around here. And although it isn’t even cold at Christmas here in Australia I feel there’s no reason why we can’t ‘winter wonderland’ it up a little bit. I saw this oh so cute idea on Pinterest and decided we’d have to do it. And so we added some snow to the kids reading nook and they love it – they just lie there and look up at the pretty little puffs of white. My hubby is brilliant and thought we should put some up in the entry to […]

hanging our Christmas stockings

November 28th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |6 Comments

Every year I fall in love with photos of beautifully decorated mantles with Christmas stockings carefully hung up ready to be filled with little gifts. I have always always wanted to have a fireplace just to hang pretty stockings on at Christmastime {oh yeah, I’d enjoy the warmth in winter too, if I had one!} but sadly we don’t have one in our home.Over the last 2 years I have just kind of skipped the stocking hanging as our new house just didn’t have anywhere for it and I was searching and searching for […]

chloe’s embroidery hoop wall art

October 30th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |1 Comment

Last week I showed you Noah’s birth stats wall art and if you’re a liker on facebook a while back you would have seen me sharing some photos etc of me working on embroidery hoop art for my little Chloe. Well I’m happy to say that it has been up in her room for a little while now and I really really love it. I don’t 100% love the placement but it wasn’t easy getting small nails into the wall {they go through the plaster and then when they hit the brick they bend or […]

noah’s updated bedroom and new birth stats wall art

October 26th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |7 Comments

We have been doing A LOT of Spring Cleaning here – and when I spring clean I often move furniture! A change is as good as a holiday and I think I’ve changed nearly every room in our house!Noah has a nautical themed bedroom. I have always wanted to have a boy so I could style his room in soft blue, beige and cream with boats and starfish and other nautical things and maps here and there. I have shared his room before – but we moved his bed to the other side of […]

diy magnetic chalkboard

October 9th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |5 Comments

When we first shared our new playroom I showed you this picture of what you see when you walk in. The frame was a project I had not finished and it stayed like that for a little longer than I like but the other weekend we finally finished it up.I had wanted a large magnetic chalkboard here and because I couldn’t find one to buy {Ikea do make a super cute one, but it isn’t available in WA yet} we decided to make one. I found a large frame at the Reject Shop for $20 […]

our new playroom : beneath the apple tree reading nook

September 7th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , |6 Comments

This is my favourite favourite part of the playroom. I love how it has come together and how it provides a nice cosy spot to read in. Fitting 4 of us in here is a bit difficult, but 3 of us is just perfect. The kids just love it and use it on a daily basis. Chloe doesn’t like the apple cushions however, so she always throws them out before she makes herself comfortable. I have always wanted a reading nook and really wanted to make one for my kiddos. At first we weren’t going […]

our new playroom : ikea expedit desk

August 18th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |3 Comments

Thank you all for such lovely lovely comments on our new playroom. We are still really loving the space and I’m also enjoying that I can close the door to pretend the mess is not there if need be. But honestly even though the room gets trashed multiple times per day, I have found that Noah is more inclined to tidy up properly because he is also proud of the space and likes it when he can see it’s neat and tidy. :o}

Today I am sharing with you how we did our Ikea hacked […]

our new playroom

August 16th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |19 Comments

Well it feels like it took us months to do this, and in reality it took over a month simply because I’m impatient and started before I ‘should’ have. After much discussion we decided to change the playroom from the open plan living area ‘games room’ we had to the smallest bedroom in the house. So I lugged everything out of that room and started moving things in, 2 days before we were to fly out to see family. Needless to say, I didn’t get very much done and lost inspiration very quickly! After returning […]

bedroom decorating – my little guy’s room

March 7th, 2011|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , |4 Comments

After sharing my little girl’s room I thought I’d share with you my little guy’s room. From the day after he was born we were set on a nautical theme for his room. One day I will have a lovely old canoe bookshelf in here. Pottery Barn is really great for inspirational decorating ideas for kids’ bedrooms!Much of the decor in here is from Germany. We had struggled to find decently priced items to put in his room but when on holiday in Germany we found a store that sold a huge range of nautical […]
