December 21st, 2016|Categories: printables|Tags: , , , , |0 Comments

I can’t believe Christmas is very nearly here and another year has whizzed by. These ‘My Christmas’ printables are a family tradition of ours and I have been sharing them on my blog for the last 6 years!!
I know some of you have been using them for as long as we have! It is really lovely to look at these from previous years and see how much the kids have grown and changed in that time.
Thank you so much for the support you always show me and my blog, despite not having posted on […]

{printable} Reindeer Food Station

December 19th, 2016|Categories: printables|Tags: , , |0 Comments

My kids absolutely love making Reindeer Food and it’s become a tradition in our home since Noah was three or four. It’s just a little something easy and fun that helps to bring a little magic to this special time of year. We leave a carrot out on Christmas Eve too, those reindeer need all the fuel they can get!!

I made these printables for Chloe’s kindy class a few years ago and it was so fun for the kids and their parents to come and make some reindeer food during our class party to take […]

{printable} LEGO mini fig

October 7th, 2014|Categories: printables|Tags: , , , , , |2 Comments

Do you have a lego lover in your life??
My kids LOVE the lego movie big time, and so I just knew they’d love this activity!
I found this awesome outline of a mini fig from here and popped two of them onto an A4 sheet for printing {I like this size as it’s a little more manageable and not so large for colouring etc}
I let the kids have a couple that they could draw on with crayons and pencils. I LOVE how Noah did these three!
I also laminated a couple for re-usable play. We use […]

{craft} easy clay bunnies

April 17th, 2014|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , |1 Comment

Here is a super fun and easy Easter craft to do this extra long weekend with the kids!!The other day Chloe said to me she wished and wished with all her might that she would find a little bunny pet in the back yard for us to love and take care of. I said to her that that was a lovely wish, but that it was one that probably couldn’t come true right now as we aren’t ready for a pet! I encouraged her to play with her hundreds of soft toy bunnies {my kids […]

Anyone else have an exhausted kindy kid?We have finished week 6 of school and although so many people I know have kindy kids that have finally adjusted to being at school, my kindy kid is still not used to it and is absolutely exhausted by the end of her Kindy day.I am lucky that Chloe LOVES school. She gets ready for school in 10 seconds flat and she happily says goodbye to me and has a really great day. I know I’m really lucky that she loves it.But some days, the minute we walk […]

gone fishin’ – foam fish alphabet fun

October 22nd, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |3 Comments

This has been a huge hit at our house! I am so glad I made them as they have been useful for both Noah and Chloe!I bought a pack of foam sheets from spotlight – they sell them in packs with a range of different colours. I cut out a heap of fish shapes {you really could do any shape you wanted though!} and used a permanent marker to write a letter on each side of the fish. Depending on who you’re making them for, add some extra letters. I made them to be used […]

{activity} construction :: hammer time!

August 2nd, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , , |3 Comments

We used to have one of those tap tap toys that came with shapes, little nails and a small hammer but it was a cheapy discount store buy and didn’t last very long. I hadn’t gotten around to replacing it and school holidays rolled around and so I brought out some thumb tacks and pulled a cork board trivet out of the kitchen drawer. ta da! DIY hammering toy. {those awesome tool sets I found the kids at Masters have a hammer that is the perfect size for little kids hands so that is what […]

{activity} construction :: nuts and bolts matching

August 2nd, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , , |5 Comments

I shared our ‘construction site’ table here and said we had a couple of activities set up to surprise the kids with in the morning. One of them was a fun construction sensory tub and the other was this matching nuts and bolts activity.This activity is really really good for fine motor skills and helping to develop the muscles kids need in their hands for proper pencil grip. When I took Noah to occupational therapy last year this is one of the activities his therapist used and it was certainly a favourite! If you’re concerned […]

{activity} DIY construction site and sensory tub

August 2nd, 2013|Categories: A Little Delightful|Tags: , , , |2 Comments

Over the school holidays we had some fun with our construction theme! Both my kids love anything trucks, diggers, tools and building so I just knew we could have a lot of fun with it. We started our activities by surprising the kids this ‘construction site’ when they woke up one morning!I laid out two activities for them to do and popped their hi-vis vests on the back of their chairs. Hubby brought in some orange cones from our outdoor playbox and thought he’d have some fun with some caution tape! A month or so ago we also […]
