{craft} egg carton jingle bells

December 15th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , |1 Comment

We love to make our own ornaments for the tree and the kids always love to see their creations hanging proudly! These egg carton jingle bells are really easy and very cute! Just cut out your egg cartons so you have the little ‘cup’ shape. I spray painted ours gold because it’s easy and quick! {I also only spray painted the tops, it would probably look nicer if you spray painted the insides too, we were just in a hurry to make something so I didn’t bother!} I poked holes in the top of each with […]

{printable} Halloween bat faces

October 22nd, 2013|Categories: crafts, printables|Tags: , |0 Comments

Hi everyone! After sharing our Halloween countdown I had a lot of people ask about our bat faces and where we got them from! I had originally made them as a printable to share on the blog but hadn’t gotten around to posting them and thought I’d leave it for this year but so many requests for them mean I’m popping them up! :o} We did handprints as I love any reason to record the size of my kids handprint at any given holiday or occasion. It’s so nice to look back on them when we […]

our play spaces

July 29th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , , , |10 Comments

Happy Monday lovely people! :o}I hope you had a great weekend! One of the things I receive the most messages and emails about is people wondering how we have set up the kids play spaces in our home. I admit our kids are very lucky with what they have space-wise in this house. They are lucky enough have two areas that are dedicated to playing and creating. If you have been a reader for a while you will know I like to change our house around a lot. We have recently done a whole switcheroo {again} and […]

{craft} weather :: pasta wheel rainbows

July 28th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , |0 Comments

I love any reason to dye pasta and we use it a lot in our activities and crafts at home. This idea is straight from pinterest, we just glued some pasta onto cardstock to make pretty rainbows. I set out the table with glue in a pot and all the coloured pasta ready for some fun! Noah knew what to do and had fun starting out on his own – he has also memorised the rainbow song so knew the order the colours should go in. Chloe needed a bit of help to start out – she […]

{printable} weather station

July 26th, 2013|Categories: crafts, printables|Tags: , |0 Comments

We couldn’t do a weather theme without making up a weather station! I searched all over the net for a printable weather station but they all had a ‘snow’ category. Now, I do know that it does snow here in some places here in Australia, but for most of us in this gorgeous country it doesn’t so I decided to make our own and leave ‘snow’ out. We decorated it ourselves with different things like coloured rice, cotton wool, tissue paper, crayons and pipe cleaners! You could just draw the pictures or get as messy with […]

June 27th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , |6 Comments

We made some ribbon rings a couple of weeks ago and my kids have been loving them! I just used random ribbon I had in our wrapping box but I decided to make them some rainbow coloured ones as who doesn’t love all those gorgeous colours all together? These are very easy to make, and super fun to play with. I bought these wooden curtain rings at Masters, about $6 for the pack of 5.And some pretty coloured ribbon from the discount shop :o}The curtain rings have these little hooks attached, but they are very […]

our playful week

June 24th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , , , , |4 Comments

Hi everyone!Whoops! My plan to have this as a weekly post certainly hasn’t worked has it!!? I can honestly not believe how the weeks are just flying by, with a little under 2 months before this baby arrives I am almost in panic mode. I have a lot of things on my ‘before baby to do list’ that I haven’t gotten to yet, plus a lot of obligations for the blog that I said yes to {some months and months ago} that I am still trying to get through. I know it’s been a bit […]

chocolate playdough

March 26th, 2013|Categories: crafts|Tags: , , , |5 Comments

This has been a HUGE hit at our house. It looks and smells like chocolate cookie dough and is so much fun to play with.My kids have been making hot chocolates, cookies, muffins and cakes with this playdough. I love smelling it, it smells so good. Maybe don’t make it if your little one is keen on eating home made playdough even though it’s super salty! But if your kiddo were to eat some, at least you know it’c completely non toxic 🙂 Chocolate Playdough:1 cup of flour1/2 cup of salt1 cup of water1 Tb cream of […]
