Yes, they are actually quite do-able!This was one of the things on our Winter Fun List, a list of things our family would like to do during this winter season. I recently made something new, something I’ve never made before. They were surprisingly easy, and they really tasted amazing. I love that it is still technically a cake {I’m not sure where the name Whoopie Pie comes from!} but that it had a different taste to your traditional cake or cupcake. Although they look so good – and so very pretty tied with twine or wrapped with a small strip of decorative paper – these are not really a ‘dainty’ cake. basic cookie recipe & a valentine’s twist

I love this recipe for basic cookie dough. It is simple, doesn’t use a lot of ingredients and so it is quick to make. Of course it tastes delicious too! It also makes A LOT of dough, so I always freeze about half of it for use later.
