It is very nearly time for school holidays and I tell you what, I’m excited! I love having a break from the lunch boxes and laundry and school drop off and pick up everyday and most of all just love having the kids home for some much needed down time.

Christmas holidays for us almost always involves travel of some sort to see family and so I like to make sure that the kids have plenty of non-screen toys to play with both on our journey and while we’re away from home. That is where Tiger Tribe come in! Tiger Tribe have been a favourite of ours for a very long time and their toys never disappoint!

We have loved their Magna Play Cases and Washable colouring in books for years and last year my kiddos received a Piccolo colouring set in their stocking and they have been a HUGE hit all year through. They come in so many gorgeous designs and are all perfect for travelling and come with us on all our trips whether by road or plane.

The Magna Junior Play Case comes in a newly designed carry case that is dent resistant and has a stronger handle making this a great, sturdy option for traveling with! The pieces are larger than those of the Magna Play Cases I mentioned earlier and are perfect for helping little hands develop fine motor skills. It’s so much fun to mix and match the animals and then giggle about the your new animal’s name – like Zebhipraffe. Ha.TT_magnajr

The Piccolo colouring sets are a firm favourite at our house and I love love to give them as gifts. They come in a neat little package that folds up to store everything neatly inside, but when open a little world of colour awaits you. Stickers, coloured markers and a spiral colouring in book all in one neat package. The designs are gorgeous and the paper is nice and thick! All important things when choosing a great set that will stand up to lots of travelling and being thrown into the car, into the bag, into the bottom of the pram, into our carry on, etc. We keep ours in the car so it’s always there for longer car rides or for when we arrive at appointments or head out for coffee.

We also love these Colour-Me placemats; printed on recycled paper, they have been a real sanity saver around here! I tear one out and pop it on the table with coloured pencils and read Chloe the insturctions/prompts on the page and she gets busy while I prep for dinner. She absolutely loves following the simple instructions, and then adding a whole new unique twist to it afterwards. Such a great way to prompt her to use her imagination.

At home we enjoy a lot of screen-free time too and we fill up our time playing games, doing puzzles, playing with building toys, heading outside and doing lots of arts/crafts and drawing. I love to choose toys for my kids that are educational (without them even knowing they’re learning while they’re playing!) and that will go the distance, stand the test of time, lend to open ended play and inspire my kids to use their imagination – and Tiger Tribe products seriously tick all those boxes.
These cute little Petite Puzzles are quite possible the cutest little puzzles you ever did see. They also make a great little stocking stuffer! Both Noah (7) and Chloe (4) enjoy putting them together and they’re the perfect size for sitting up at the table and doing a quick puzzle after dinner.

If you’re after a bigger puzzle then they’ve still got you covered with this gorgeous Petite Collage floor puzzle. I absolutely love the team work that is involved in finding the right pieces and putting it all together, definitely time very well spent! I also love that these puzzles come in so many absolutely gorgeous designs, and are printed with vegetable based inks and made with recycled paper. They’re beautiful puzzles you can feel really good about.TT_floorpuzzle

Without a doubt a favourite right now is this super cute set of Mix & Match Holiday characters such as Santa, Rudolph and a super cute gingerbread man.

The cards are super thick and sturdy and the illustrations are just so beautiful! Chloe had a ball at first matching the correct pieces together but when I showed her how funny they could be if we mixed them up she was hooked. The Mix & Match sets come in different designs such as Animal Jamboree, Robot, Fairy Tale and more and I think these will become my new favourite gift to give! TT_holiday_mixmatch

Tiger Tribe’s Patternation is an awesome educational tool and my kids have been loving it! It comes with 96 magnetic tiles and 12 beautiful pattern cards for the kids to test their brain power with and recreate on the magnetic board. It’s the perfect rainy day activity that is not only really fun and engaging but also great for fine motor skills. Chloe and I like to do this one together as it’s a little more challenging for her but Noah loves it as an independent quiet time activity. TT_patternation
