Hi everyone!
I am so happy we’re back up and running and super happy to be sharing with you this printable – one of the most asked for printables on my blog since sharing this post years ago!
So here are some Printable LABELS for the Christmas Cookie Mix Jars.
Plus I’ve done the hard work for you and tested out a few jars and found one that fits well and is a little easier to find.

This makes such a cute gift and we often give it to our kids teachers {the ones we know who like to bake that is!} and to friends at Christmastime so they can use it after all the crazy Christmas feasting has died down a little and they’re looking for a little fun and easy baking fix in the kitchen with their kids!

Now I’ve changed the recipe a little since the original I shared on the blog so long ago and cut out the last 1/2 cup of white sugar. I did this mostly because YOU DO NOT NEED IT, the cookies are sweet sweet sweet already without it. And because the brown sugar when packed down keeps all the other ingredients in place so you don’t really need that extra layer to keep everything snug in the jar.

Now for the jar which has always been the big issue with gifts like this as it’s not always easy to find a jar that will fit everything properly.
To try and make it as easy as possible to replicate I have gone for an IKEA Korken 1L jar, now you know for sure the ingredients will fit nicely in one of these :o}
To make your Christmas Cookie Mix Jars, you will need

  • 1 1/3 cup of plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarb soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup of christmas m&m’s
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips {I use dark}
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

To layer your Christmas Cookie Mix Jars
  • Mix the 1 1/3 cup of plain flour with the tsp each of baking powder and baking soda and the 1/4 tsp of salt. This is your bottom layer.
  • Add the 1 cup of oats
  • Add the 3/4 cup of m&m’s
  • Add the 3/4 cup of chocolate chips
  • Add the 1/2 cup of brown sugar and pack it down gently and evenly so it covers the choc chips

Then decorate with ribbon and the cute Christmas Cookie Mix Jar labels that come with baking instructions for your lucky recipient. It would also be nice to tie a cute wooden spoon to the jar as a little finishing touch! :o}

To bake your Christmas Cookies – just in case you want to make these anyway and not give them as a gift!
{these instructions are included on the printable label so that your recipient will know just what to do for yummy fresh cookies!}

you need:
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • melt softly 100g butter
  • add 1 tsp of vanilla
to bake:
  • mix the cookie mix together with the egg, butter and vanilla
  • take out tablespoon full worth of cookie dough and shape into a ball
  • flatten a little on your baking tray
  • bake for 10-12 minutes in a 180c oven
  • eat
