One of the very first things I do to get our house Christmas ready is put together our Christmas book basket. I search the house for all of our Christmas books and this year I have made a little book corner for the kids!
We also have a family tradition that each kiddo receives a new Christmas book on Dec 1. I normally spend a little while choosing a special book for them each, one I know they will really enjoy.
These are our picks this year :o}
It’s Owen’s first Christmas and I couldn’t go past the oh so cute Snugglepot and Cuddlepie for him.
For Chloe, anything fairy related is a favourite so I knew the Little Fairy’s Christmas would be perfect for her.
And for Noah, he is into books that make him laugh, and The Naughtiest Reindeer gave me a bit of a giggle so I’m sure he’ll love it.
I wrote about our December 1 Christmas book tradition last year – you can check that post out here.
We love to write a little dedication in their special book each year – a little note just for them. The books do get shared though in our Christmas book basket but the idea is that when they leave home and maybe have their own families they’ll have a lovely collection of their very special books to enjoy.
I have also been asked about our favourite Christmas books so I thought I’d take some photos of them for you! We have more, but these are really our favourites and we enjoy them no matter how many times we read them!

For where we buy our books it really does depend! Big W has in the past been pretty good for books but so far this year I haven’t loved a lot of their selection. Dymocks is always great and usually has a great range, and for online I love Book depository and Apple Green Books!
What are your favourite Christmas books??
